Some experts say that the top picture comes from an arrow hitting the center of a target. A heart that hits the center is loyal or faithful.
When we remember that sin in scripture is what misses the target, this picture carries a stronger meaning.
Many a man proclaims his own loyalty. But who can find a loyal man? Proverbs 20:6
Am I loyal to God? To my spouse? To the things that I have promised?

A faithful person hits the target for others and for themselves.
