This is God's call to Israel. 

That they hear (the Hebrew word for hear also means to understand and obey) 

and that they love the Lord with all their heart, soul and might.

This can also be our prayer for Israel and for ourselves,

that we will hear, understand and act on the knowledge that God is the only God

and that the result of this knowledge would be that we would love with all of  our heart, soul and might.

These pendants help us remember the call of God, and our response to that call.
